Project Summary:
Morton Buildings is a well known metal building manufacturer and construction company throughout Pennsylvania and much of the United States. I have had the privilege of working with their Centre Hall and Meadville, PA offices on many different projects. Design projects have ranged from metal building shells for horse riding arenas to full multi-story office buildings with attached service or warehouse portions. Morton buildings creates some of the most high quality metal buildings, and to compliment, we provide our highest quality designs to ensure satisfied customers.
Project Highlights:
B&R Farm Equipment, Inc. - Milroy, PA (12,500 sq.ft.)
This project was a design/build between PBCI - Engineering and our sister company PBCI - Allen with Morton Buildings. The new Sales and Service facility for a New Holland dealership company featured a 2-story office building complete with stock room and tool room. The new facility also housed a 60'x90'x20' service and sub-assembly area. The new heating system incorporated an 8 zone hot water in-floor radiant system which is served by 2,350 mbh waste oil boilers.
Sugarcreek United Methodist Church - Sugarcreek, PA (4,300 sq.ft.)
Although the bulk of our work with Morton Buildings is done in conjunction with their Centre Hall office, we also occasionally work with their Meadville office. In this case we worked with the Meadville office to provide a new worship facility for the United Methodists of Sugarcreek, PA. This metal building church was designed with a full kitchen, 2 classrooms and 30'x60' worship/social hall.
Haywood Horse Barn - Pa Furnace, PA (16,600 sq.ft.) & Galloway Horse Barn - Boalsburg, PA (13,600 sq.ft.)
These two projects are very similar in that they are both design/build projects with PBCI - Allen and both projects included an indoor horse riding arena and stable barn. Both riding arenas provided year round horse riding. The stable barns included a barn manager's office, automatic water system for the horses and tack area.
Clepper Bus Services - Dubois, PA (6,600 sq.ft.)
This project, also design build, provided a new bus service and maintenance facility. The facility heating system was also a hot water in-floor radiant system, and although it did not incorporate a waste oil boiler, it did utilized a Lockinvar high efficiency gas fired boiler.
Involvement:
My responsibilities for the above projects included the design of the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. For the B&R Farm Equipment and Clepper Bus Services projects, I was also responsible for the design and layout of the in-floor hot water radiant heating system. In the process I also created the construction drawings and code submission documents.
